first off,
here's my portion of the entry! I can edit things, too, if need be! I just kinda threw the red on there because I felt it needed it, but I can gladly remove it.

Secondly, what's the status on the collab round?

I was chatting with snowchildhero on Skype the other night when she brought up the idea of the red string of fate. I really like this idea, not to mention that it's well, kind of the only idea we have atm.

So, since this round is about balance, I had an idea to expand on that. What if one of us wrote/drew something that featured primarily either Dualscar or Mindfang, while someone else did something with the other? I'm totally willing and able to at least draw one part of it.

If anyone else has any suggestions, that's great and wonderful! :D But, it's due this saturday so I think it's pretty fair to put a deadline for all ideas on Wednesday? But really, let's try to knock this one out of the park so that we can focus our energies on that collab round!

So, it has been up for more than two days now, and no one has replied to my post about moving forward, save for Mur, who knew I was making the post. No one has also replied to the post about Round 3 which has been up for even longer. I know we are all really busy, but I feel like if we don't get started soon, round 3 will be hard to organize. I have ideas for it, but I only wanted to delve into that after we'd decided the palhoncho business, and again...there's been no movement.

It's okay if people are busy but if that's the case, it might be best if the team disbanded.

Thoughts? Is anyone still out there?

Okay guys!!! Murmur is busy this weekend and asked me to fill in for Palhoncho! There are some really important things going on right now!! Please take a few minutes to go through this stuff, all right?

Firstly, Round 1 voting has started, and we get points for our team members voting!!! You can see the voting post here, and additional voting and scoring info is here. Please take a few minutes to vote, the entries that our team will be reading are these. Voting is going on until the 7th. Also, when you vote, it'd be cool if you could comment here and let us know! That way we can calculate our bonus points and make sure they match with what we get and such. But don't stress it.

Round 2's theme is Monsters! We actually have two discussion posts about round 2 right now, the first one here, and a more recent one here. For the sake of ease, I copy pasta'd the one post someone had made in the recent one, and put in the first post, so please use that post when discussing from now on, to help keep all our ideas in one place! Pleeeeaaaase voice your opinions! We have several writers, several artists, and I am also able to video edit, so there are a lot of options for stuff we can do!

The collab round is still a thing, even if it is not due for a while, I believe some time in the beginning of August we need to check in and say we are working on it. Discussion for the collab round is going on here.

One last round going on - Bonus rounds!!! Unfortunately, in the bonus round, we can't write for Dualscar/Mindfang, but we CAN earn points for our team! The current round does not seem very hard to participate in, either! I made a discussion post for that here.

I have to say guys, I had been a bit nervous about the team, especially since some of the people on the list haven't said boo yet and so many of us were busy at the start. But then, at the end of the first round in the nick of time, we came up with not one, not two, but THREE possible submissions! That's pretty damn amazing, and now that we're getting the hang of it, I think the future rounds will go well! I'm really super proud and super excited to be on this team!!! <3!! Thank you so much to ALL of you participating right now!!!

COLLAB ROUND: ABERRATION

Just reminding everyone about the Collab Round since it's been quite awhile since we've talked about it.

We at least need three people to contribute for it to be considered valid, and it's due by August 4th, but Mods will be checking with the Palhonchos (Mur) to make sure we have something at the beginning of July.

Hey guys, I just wanted to post these here for anyone who doesn't read the main comm. These are the rules and requirements for round 2, and all the rounds.

"Requirements (as stated in the Info Post)
Fic/meta must be between 800-3000 words.
Combination fic/art entries cannot have more than 4 images.
All other image-based media (including comics) cannot exceed 10 images/panels.
Cosplay must be at least 75% created or assembled new for the challenge.
Gifs and other animations must be 8 seconds or less total. (e.g. you could have one 5-second gif and one 3-second gif)
Games are still subject to the 10-image limit.
Live-action movies are limited to one minute total.
Original music is also limited to one minute total.

The penalties for going over 3k words will be as follows:
3000-3050: no penalty (to allow for disparities in wordcount software)
3051-3150: -30 points
3151-3250: -60 points
etc.
PLEASE NOTE that gdocs is notoriously bad at generating an accurate wordcount, so you should probably check your submission at http://www.wordcounter.net/ just to make sure.
Also, this year we are requiring transcriptions of all text on images. These transcriptions count towards the wordcount.

Please remember not to post your HSO creations publicly until voting ends, whether or not they are chosen as part of the team submission. We would like to keep things as anonymous as possible!"

This week I'm going to try to assemble a bit of a DW how to sheet, since I know some people have been having issues with it! I'm new to DW, but I've been using livejournal for over a decade, and it's mostly the same thing, I'm finding.

I do have two questions, if you guys aren't sure, I'll try to contact mods.

1. For voiceacting, does everyone voicing need to be on the team? I know a few guys who can pull off a good Dualscar voice (including jbriner, who has released stuff I'm sure you guys have heard.) But none of them are involved in HSO at all.

2. One thing I like to do is music videos with cosplay photos. All the photos would be taken for the video specifically...but I'm guessing it would still have to meet the 75% assembled for rule? X_X 75% of Mindfang is a LOT OF MONEY AND WORK.

Just thought I'd ask, I can FWD them to a mod if need be.

Currently I'm trying to do fills in the bonus rounds. and um.. I don't see any more progress towards our submission for round one except for a lot of great ideas. Has everyone already started collaborating on it on tumblr or skype or something while I don't know? Or like is someone doing round one individually by themselves?

Because there's 3 days until the deadline for round 1 and I'm getting a bit worried that we've not done anything yet. And I would really like to start working with ya'll or something. maybe/?///

Hi, my name is Ginny! I was using the dw name SetsunafSeiei, but I have switched to this name, which coincides with my tumblr. I've actually been a combination of REALLY sick and REALLY busy con preping the last few weeks...which is, ah, a HORRIBLE combination if I do say so myself, LOL. But I am also finishing up the school year (I work in education!) and I have the summer off! Aside from Otakon and a vacation, I will have a lot of free time on my hands!

As far as what I have to offer the team...um. I'm good at organizing. That's probably my main deal. I DO write, but most of what I've done is RP (I RP Dualscar and occasionally Mindfang! *wiggles eyebrows!) So we'll see if i can whip up something I'm not too embarrassed to post. I also can make music videos and I cosplay, I was consudering combining the two if the mods would allow for it.

Cold meds are kicking in, so before I start rambling about Dualscar and Mindfang incoherently, i'll sign off. However, I will say this - this pairing is VERY special to me and i am so excited to work with other fans of it!!! <3

So for this round, I was thinking of gambling, then poker, then envisioning a bunch of people in a speakeasy gathered around playing cards when suddenly someone cheats and is caught.

So basically I'm thinking about having the two in 1920s outfits (because I'll use any excuse I can to draw that era's clothing!) and Mindfang being pissed about Dualscar's cheating, so she leaps over the poker table to tell him exactly how mad she is.

Bonus points for comedy.
Double bonus points because Mindfang in a flapper dress

What do you guys think?

welp, the prompt for the collab round has been posted! The theme is aberration, meaning a break from the norm.

I think it would be beneficial to decide on what we're going to do first, a concrete idea, and then decide on how we're gonna make it happen!

My first thought was to do something adorably sweet, as in one of them caring for the other, but I'd like to hear your ideas! (Also, commenting in this post would be a great way to keep things in order!)

Okay so they've posted the prompts for the collaboration round and round number 1!

The collab work is due in 2 months while round 1 ends in 20 days. So yeah.. the theme for round 1 is Gambling which I guess is a pretty easy theme for us to associate with this ship. I'M QUITE EXCITED. So.. ideas? Should wwe have another skype meetin to brainstorm some ideas for it or should wwe just discuss here?

Anywayyyyy, my name is Lauren but feel free to call me criifi. As for pronoun usage, I'd prefer the feminine, but I really don't mind what you use. (You'll find that I'm okay with a lot of things.) My timezone is EST/Eastern and since I just got out of school I should be on a lot more.
